In a world that often asks us to harden, Nessa’s work reminds us to soften.

Under the name You Are Resilient, this San Antonio-based fiber artist has built a following knot by knot—creating handwoven macramé pieces that don’t just adorn the home, but anchor it. Each work is crafted with intention, offering a sense of comfort, safety, and calm to those who bring it into their space.

What began in 2019 as a personal act of healing has evolved into a calling. “I started weaving as a way to come back to my body,” Nessa says. “To move through grief and ground myself in something tangible.” That same energy lives in her pieces today. Earth-toned, organic, and textural, each one feels like a meditation on care and quiet resilience.

Her wall hangings—often displayed in living rooms, bedrooms, and sacred spaces—carry more than aesthetic value. They’re reminders. That softness is strength. That beauty can be functional. That we are allowed to rest, breathe, and feel held.

But as Nessa continues to evolve in her artistry, she’s being pulled toward something deeper—something more expressive and raw.

“I want to do some ugly pieces,” she says with a smile. “Ones that really speak. You know what I mean?”

And we do.

Not “ugly” in the literal sense—but unfiltered. Honest. Larger-than-life pieces that hold emotional weight and creative freedom. She’s ready to take on bigger projects: statement pieces for homes, studios, or healing spaces. Art that doesn’t just hang—it inhabits.

“I want to create work that makes people pause. That reflects real emotion. That challenges the idea that home décor has to be perfect or polished.”

The foundation is already there—her work is known for its grounded elegance and deeply intentional feel. But now, Nessa is carving space to explore bigger textures, bolder knots, and more complex stories through fiber.

You can still find her at local markets, where she continues to offer smaller works, meaningful gifts, and her signature warmth. But don’t be surprised if you leave dreaming up a custom commission. Because Nessa isn’t just a fiber artist—she’s a storyteller. And she’s inviting us into her next chapter, one wall at a time.
